Monday Blogcrawl
I'm trying to make more of a concerted effort to get out and about, and I have to report that it really does yield results. Whatever you do, never give in to the urge to isolate! If, however, you have chosen to lock yourself in your dark little room, here are some things on the net that I found interesting:

- Boy George does a TV interview sometime in the 80s, with his great tomato-red hair
- I'm reading Genelle Guzman-McMillan's book Angel in the Rubble, so was interested in this interview with her when she was in New Zealand recently. An amazing book, by the way
- Collider tells us that Cocteau's classic film Beauty and the Beast has been released on blu-ray. I don't have blu-ray, but am always glad to see renewed interest in the wonderful Monsieur Cocteau
- Hate to bang on about Julian Barnes, but I love him, and think he's a real contender for this year's Booker with his new novel The Sense of an Ending
- A stark photo essay on the different conditions in which children live - from Brain Pickings
- These super-glam mobile phones are exactly the kinds of things I'd love to be flashing around
- Mr. Men books treated with the seriousness they deserve
- Quite a lot of people seem to have forgotten their manners in this busy society. Zen Family Habits provides us with a lovely list of ways to say thanks.
- This is my kind of wedding party. From Poorly Dressed
- The Vietnamese press warns women that their husbands might be gay
- Shift Your Life brings us legendary marketer Jay Conrad Levinson's take on lifetime learning
- I think I'm going to make an effort to attend the Sydney Underground Film Festival, and the Sydney Morning Herald tells us what to expect
- A mix of Boy George's really catchy new (ish) song 'Yes We Can', inspired by Obama! From Soundcloud
- Great pictures of the lace creations currently on display at the Powerhouse Museum
- When Genres Attack (their next fascinating event is on in September) brings us M. J. Hearle on writing supernatural fiction
- I love when people scan their cats (and other, not usually scan-able things). Bit Rebels shows us some great scanned chocolate bars
- 50 great ways to make your blog more interesting. From Jeff Bullas
- The Big Lebowski cast reunion!
