Gretta Vosper at Pitt St Uniting
I have just been in Melbourne where I attended the second Common Dreams conference. This was a gathering of Australian religious progressives, and was a fascinating, stimulating, occasionally exasperating, but constantly thought-provoking occasion.
For me the highlight was hearing Canadian minister Gretta Vosper - especially her opening night address, which I thought was amazing. To say that she is a radical is understating things. Hers is a highly critical theological vision based around radical inclusivity and engagement, and I found it thrillingly refreshing. I bought a copy of her book With or Without God, and have been poring over it ever since.
People in Sydney will have a chance to hear Gretta speak for herself this week at Pitt St Uniting Church. From 7pm she will be discussing the ideas from With or Without God. This is an absolute must-see - and prepare to be challenged.
