Last new books of 2013

I really can't help myself. I suppose I could say that these are Christmas presents to myself. From the top:

Elizabeth Taylor The Soul of Kindness - I recently read an essay in the Spectator about how fabulous Elizabeth Taylor is, and then I heard a BBC podcast saying the same thing, so I figured it was the Universe trying to tell me something. I must admit she sounds very 'me'.

Vita Sackville-West Twelve Days - My Sackville-West passion is well known, and I have never read this travelogue. An exciting discovery at a second-hand bookshop.

The movie that inspired my lifelong obsession

Vaslav Nijinsky The Diary of Vaslav Nijinsky - When I was a child I saw a movie about Nijinsky's life on TV, and it had a huge impact on me. He became one of my strange childhood obsessions. But I have never read his diaries.

Monica Furlong Zen Effects: The Life of Alan Watts - This was a gift and I look forward to reading it very much. Watts fascinates me, though I can't say I am a fan of his writing. More interested in his life.
